The Center for Consumer Recovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, focused on helping everyday Americans recover from financial distress/hardship. 

Our Social Mission

CCR is committed to helping people resolve delinquent debt problems, reduce their financial

stress, and improve family stability.  Stable families will foster better health outcomes and

educational achievement for children.   We work to strengthen communities. 

How We Work

We primarily accept donations of patient delinquent debts from hospitals and other healthcare

organizations. The individuals who owe these medical debts become the focus of all the services

we provide to help families.

We help each consumer in ways that work to stabilize the family.

• We help consumers find new jobs or upgrade existing jobs. The service includes

                    job search, resume writing, 

                    interview scheduling, interview rehearsal, reminders and follow-up.

• We intercede with other creditors to stop the collections calls, negotiate new and

                   advantageous payment plans and discounted settlements on all of a patient’s

                   delinquent debt.

• We identify public and private social services to address family needs.
• We provide resources for financial literacy and budget planning.
• We help improve credit scores.

We are a “passive debt owner” and do not make any direct contact with consumers. All outreach

As CCR helps consumers to get back on their feet, financially, some consumers volunteer to pay

a modest and affordable amount toward their delinquent hospital debt. These payments are used

to fund the CCR costs of helping all consumers and to make investments into the local

communities where the consumers live and work.

CCR invites and appreciates the donations from charitable foundations and from the general

public as we build our unique model of advocacy for family and community stability. We accept

donations of cash, consumer debt portfolios and other assets from individuals, financial

institutions, hospitals and general creditors.

All Services are Free

All of our services are available FREE of charge to the consumer, hospital or other creditor. No

fees or charges of any kind, ever. CCR is a self-funding 501(c)(3) non-profit.
